Ink & Cartridge Errors
"Cartridge Problem" / "Incompatible Cartridge"
Cause: Cartridge not recognized or improperly installed
Steps: Remove the cartridge → clean the gold contacts with a lint-free cloth → reinsert firmly until it clicks → if using compatible cartridge, remove and reinsert 2-3 times
"Low Ink" / "Ink System Failure"
Cause: Ink level low or ink system malfunction
Steps: Replace the low cartridge. For "Ink System Failure": turn off printer → unplug for 60 seconds → hold power button for 15 seconds while unplugged → plug back in and turn on
"Printhead Missing or Failed"
Cause: Printhead not seated properly or needs cleaning
Steps: Open cartridge door → remove printhead → clean electrical contacts with distilled water and lint-free cloth → let dry 10 minutes → reinstall. If error persists, the printhead may need replacement.
Paper & Feed Errors
"Paper Jam" / "Clear Jam"

Cause: USB or WiFi connection lost
Steps: For USB — try a different USB port and cable. For WiFi — restart printer and router, make sure both devices are on the same network, print a Network Configuration page from the printer menu.
LaserJet-Specific Errors
"49 Error" / "49.4C02"
Cause: Firmware communication error
Steps: Turn off printer → unplug for 30 seconds → plug back in → turn on. If persists, disconnect from network, clear all print jobs, then reconnect.
"50.X Fuser Error"
Cause: Fuser unit malfunction (overheating or failure)
